a number every computer connected
to the Internet has to have an IP
number.
A "static IP" never changes,
as opposed to a "dynamic IP"
which is constantly changing. The
advantages of having a static IP number
is that static IP's tend to lend themselves
much better to advanced web development,
they are much easier to work with
and they are more compatible with
