name pointing is having additional
domain names pointing to the same
website content.
For example you could build a site
on www.yoursite.com, then register
a second domain such as www.yoursite2.com
and point that to your first site.
Essentially it is a mirror of your
first site on a separate domain. This
is helpful when attempting to secure
additional search engine listings
or to reduce the load on the original
